Dataset description

In the context of this thesis, for the first time, a species inventory of plant wasps for the National Park Gesäuse created. In the period from April to November 2016 there were 14 Excursion days a total of 54 test areas in the Gesäuse National Park and collected on adjacent areas by hand catching, scooping and knocking screens. Mainly high-congestion corridors, rudderal areas, cow pastures, deciduous forests, forest edges, meadows and meadows were investigated. In addition to the own surveys, historical evidence (FRANZ 1982) was also taken into account. In addition, data sets from the collections of Johann Neumayer (Salzburg) and the ÖKOTEAM (Öeko, Graz) were collected for this work. In total, 174 species from 854 plant wasps were registered within the national park border. Among them are two first records for Austria (Euura virilis (Zirngiebl, 1955) and Nematus glaphyropus DALLA TORRE, 1882). 124 of the detected species are approximated in Germany according to the Red List of plant wasps in Germany, nine species are not listed and the remaining 40 species are attributed to varying degrees of a hazard category. Following the list of species, each of the eleven plant wasp families found in the Gesäuse National Park is presented as an example of a biologically interesting species.
