Dataset description

In 2009, on behalf of the Department of Nature Conservation & Natural Space of the Gesäuse National Park, the diversity of lichen societies at selected summit sites of the Gesäuse Mountains was investigated. The study is part of surveys carried out in the course of participation in the international research project GLORIA. In addition to a detailed description of the sites examined, the report provides a first overview of the previous lichenological research of the summit regions in the Gesäuse National Park. The standardised lichenological mapping took place at 7 selected summits. In order to lay the basis for continuous monitoring, permanent observation areas have been set up at all summits. Phytosociological images were carried out on these areas.
