Dataset description

Static theme. Shows data for the Natura 2000 baseline analysis 2022-2027 revised in 2021, which is the basis for the 2022 consultation of Natura 2000 plans 2022-2027. The theme shows an analysis of the fishing intensity with bottom-bearing gears in squares of 100x100m based on position data for Danish fishing vessels. The intensity tells how many times the seabed in the individual squares has been potentially affected by fishing gear in 2013-2018. The map has been compiled using different types of position data (VMS, AIS, Black Box) with varying precision and recording efficiency, where position data is at a given speed of the vessel where it is assumed by the fishery. The analysis shows how many times the square could potentially have been affected by fishing during the period. The intensity is calculated as a “swept area ratio” (SAR) by dividing the total potential gear impact of the period into each square (footprint measured in m²) by the area of the square (10 000 m²).
