Satellite Mosaic (Image2017)

Finland’s IMAGE2017 satellite image mosaic 20 m has been produced in SYKE in the EU Copernicus Land project. The material consists of Sentinel 2 satellite images taken during summers 2017 and 2016. The images have been subjected to cloud masking and atmospheric repair, after which the images have been mosaiced into a uniform mosaic. The reflectances of the images are scaled to 8-bit and the mosaic’s pixel size is 20 m. In the material, the water areas and the areas of missing knowledge are almost black, closed coniferous forests in dark green, deciduous forests and vegetated arable lands with bright green and scarcely plant-covered areas in different shades of red. The images were processed with cloud masking and atmospheric correction, after which the images have been tiled into a single mosaic.The reflectances of the images are scaled to 8-bit and the pixel size is 20 m. In the data, water areas and areas of missing information show in black, closed coniferous forests in dark green, deciduous forests and vegetated arable lands in bright green, and Sparsely vegetated areas in different shades of red. Accreditation dates 07/2016-09/2017. Usage as a background map and for image interpretation. This SYKE’s dataset can be used according to open data license (CC BY 4.0).
