Dataset description

DATA SOURCE The data of eHealth (ESPBI IS) digital medical death certificates (form E106) are used, which the Register Center submits daily to the State Data Management Information System (VDV IS) of the Lithuanian Statistics Department (LSD). SAMPLE, SCOPE, UPDATE Persons who have died of any cause and whose death is documented in a digital medical death certificate (form E106) in the eHealth system. Leave only persons with a valid Lithuanian personal identification number (according to the structure and check digit) on the death certificate. Deaths since January 1, 2018 are listed. until the seventh day before the table update date. Data is updated weekly. STRUCTURE OF THE TABLE The table is aggregated according to five characteristics: year of death, month of death, age group of the deceased, sex, unrevised main cause of death (three-digit ICD-10 diagnosis code). So each line is a unique combination of these five characteristics. The last column (the number of deaths) is never equal to 0, that is, if in a specific year, in a specific month, in a specific age and gender group, not a single person died for a specific reason - such a row is simply not included in the table. CAUSES OF DEATH Medical death certificates code the main cause of death according to the International Classification of Diseases and Prevention (ICD-10).
