Dataset description

The Province of Utrecht has drafted an amendment banning cracks and ploughs in the Veenareas. This is laid down in the Provincial Spatial Structure Vision and the Water Plan. This soil map shows the construction of the soil up to 1.20 meters below ground level. The Soil Map Veenareas province Utrecht, scale 1:25,000 is an update and further detailing of older existing soil maps. The map shows the current occurrence of venous and moggy soils within the research area. On the basis of the Soil Map Veenareas province Utrecht, two derived maps have been made, namely: Vulnerability to oxidation of organic matter (scale 1:50.000) and vulnerability to oxidation of organic matter in soil processing (scale 1:50.000). For the municipality of Vijfheerenlanden, which has been part of the province of Utrecht since 1 January 2019, no data is yet available.
