Dataset description

Flood hazard areas shall be classified into flood hazard classes on the basis of criteria that classify the power of the flood flow at the same probability of occurrence, with the determining criterion indicating the highest hazard class. Flat spatial objects represent the ranges of areas of the class: — low flood hazards (Pm) where at the flow rate Q100 or G100 the depth of water is less than 0.5 m or the product of the depth and velocity of the water is less than 0.5 m²/s. — medium flood hazards (Ps) where, at the flow rate Q100 or G100, the depth of water is equal to or greater than 0.5 m and less than 1.5 m or the product of the depth and velocity of water equal to or greater than 0.5 m²/s and less than 1.5 m²/s, or where the depth of water is greater than 0.0 m at flow rate Q10 or G10. — high flood risks (Pv) where, at the flow rate of Q100 or G100, the depth of water is equal to or greater than 1.5 m or the product of the depth and velocity of the water is equal to or greater than 1.5 m²/s. — residual flood hazards (Pp) where flooding is caused by extraordinary natural or human-induced events (e.g. extreme meteorological phenomena or damage or demolition of flood facilities or other water facilities). In practice, these areas include flood risk areas between Q100 and Q500. — and the area of validity of the results (OVR) — this is the area where the flood hazard classes are shown to be valid. The basic purpose of the data layer is to define the conditions and limits for the implementation of spatial interventions and activities in areas threatened by floods. The data are also intended for the planning of flood risk reduction measures, spatial planning and spatial interventions, and information on flood conditions.
