Dataset description
Under the title of “Assessment of the Current State of Mineral Waters in the Autonomous Community of Andalusia”, it includes a series of works aimed at classifying and quantifying the abstractions and springs of mineral-medicinal, mining-industrial and beverage water packaged in the Autonomous Community of Andalusia, which is carried out under the Framework Agreement for Technical Assistance signed between the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Junta de Andalucía and the Instituto Tecnológico Geominero de España (ITGE) based on the Government Agreement of 24-07-1994 (BOJA No 77 of 17/08/1989). The works were carried out by the National Company ADARO, S.A. and by Technology and Resource of the Earth (TRT).
The project was carried out in two phases. Phase I, during 1990-1991, was carried out an inventory of mineral water, medicinal mining and industrial mining points in the Autonomous Community of Andalusia, inventing a total of 308 points. Distributed as follows, Almería 33 points, Cádiz 31 points, Cordoba 22 points, Granada 85 points, Huelva 15 points, Jaén 49 points, Huelva 15 points, Málaga 55 points and Sevilla with 18 points.
Phase II, from 1991 to 1993, is proposed as the update of the Inventory of points of mining-medicinal water and drink packaged in the Autonomous Community of Andalusia, following the objectives that were set for Phase I. In total 23 new points were inventoryed, distributed as follows: Almeria 1 point, Cádiz 2 points, Cordoba 5 points, Granada 3 points, Huelva 1 point, Jaén 1 point, Málaga 9 points and Seville with 1 points.
In the inventory the basic information of each mineral water points is collected, such as the geographical location, state of the point, administrative situation, historical history, exploitation and marketing, administrative protection, physical-chemical characteristics, level and flow measures, and geological and hydrogeological characteristics. All this is incorporated into a database, and created a layer of geographical information of the points of mineral waters of Andalusia.
