Dataset description
The Hospital Area is the territorial framework for the provision of specialised health care. It is the geographical demarcation for the management and administration of that of specialised health care, being made up of at least one Hospital and the Peripheral Specialty Centers attached to it" (Law 2/1998 of 15 June, Health of Andalusia), is constituted by municipal groups that determine the Specialised Assistance Map. The data is updated according to the opening of new hospitals and the information is stored in GIS format at 1:100,000 scale. Decree 105/1986 of 11 June 1986 specifies that “Hospital Areas shall be defined according to demographic criteria, accessibility of the population and efficiency for the provision of specialised care”.
