Update of the Inventory of Mines, Quarries and Graveras of Andalusia and its environmental impacts

The basic objective of the project is the preparation of an inventory of mines, quarries and active graveyards existing within the territory of the Autonomous Community of Andalusia. The inventory contains the necessary information regarding the specific contents of the Mining Law, and its Regulations, the Basic Mining Safety Standards Regulation and the Complementary Technical Instructions that develop it and the environmental situation of the farms. The content of the work is structured into five large blocks: — Obtaining all the administrative, technical, mining and environmental information of the farms. — Characterisation in relation to the safety and environmental situation of all active farms. — The assessment of the safety and environmental situation of farms in their general scope. — The analysis and programming of actions, and the study of guidelines and guidelines for the management of the Mining Administration, at provincial and general level. — The systematisation of all information, orienting it towards a global management model, through the preparation of fiches, databases and mapping. The work was carried out by the company Geomare, S.A., commissioned by the General Directorate of Energy Industry and Mines of the Ministry of Employment and Technological Development of the Junta de Andalucía, under a technical assistance contract, during the years 1999-2000. The information is provided in inventory sheets where the information related to the holdings is collected, and then implemented in a database.
