Dataset description

In 2019 and 2020 studies on bat fauna were carried out in the Gesäuse National Park, which mainly carried out net catches and acoustic surveys. A total of 18 bat species were detected, four of which were occupied for the first time in the National Park. Particularly noteworthy is the detection of a small mouse ear (Myotis oxygnathus), a bat species threatened with extinction in Austria. This work highlights the importance of the Gesäuse National Park for bats.
