Dataset description

ECOICOP (European classification of individual consumption uses) Description: ECOICOP is the European version of UN-COICOP. In order to allow greater detail, another hierarchical level was introduced that of the subclass. However, COICOP and ECOICOP are completely identical up to the level of the 4 digits. COICOP is the classification of the uses of individual consumption and is part of the national accounts system. The functional classifications are mainly used to display certain (expenditure) flows according to their intended use (purpose). However, they are not only important for national accounts, but COICOP is also used in international economic comparisons, consumer price index and household budget surveys. Relationship with other classifications: CPC, COICOP, COPNI, COFOG
