Dataset description

The restoration project on Lake Sulzkar aims to restore the natural state of the lake in the core zone of the National Park. As early as 2003, an initial survey of the ecology of this lake was commissioned to find out the results of which, if interested, can be found at the following link: http://www.nationalpark.co.at/de/gewasser-und-quellen/gewasserokologische-bestandsaufnahme-sulzkarsee-nationalpark-gesause.html A follow-up study in 2013 has documented the changes since then and proposes further measures. This includes the distance of the Elritze stock, which can only be reached by means of a complete emptying of the lake. The National Park is a land tenant and also a fisherman on the areas of the National Park. The measure is also supported by the Department of Forest and Wildlife Management (Stmk. Landesforste) has been agreed and has also been approved under nature protection law. The project is supervised by Dr. Schabetsberger (University of Salzburg, Department of Cell Biology, Division of Animal Structure & Function, RG Fish Biology and Herpetology, Hellbrunnerstrasse 34, 5020 Salzburg). A technical opinion of the Federal Office for Water Management (Dr. Hubert Gassner) is a positive result of the project. On the part of the Fisheries Association Zeller See, there was a guarantee to take over the fish professionally and to use it to support the stock in the Zeller See. Towards the end of the pasture season at the Sulzkaralm, the project was launched in 2016.
