Dataset description

During the initial uptake of the spread of the FFH laubmoosis Dicranum viride, as in the majority of its main distribution area, it was also widely classified as dispersed in the Gesäuse National Park. This finding remains up to 10 years later after the first repeat mapping 2019-2020. Only in 3 out of 30 areas the species could no longer be identified, 1 of which was greatly altered by construction work. However, the network of the found points could be further compacted, 4 new areas, e.g. in the area of the buttock entrance, were added. The importance of dead strains to live as a substrate is increasing, which is interpreted as a sign of development towards very natural forests.
