Dataset description

The National Inventory Report 2009 (NIR 2009) presents a detailed methodology description of the Austrian air pollutant inventory for greenhouse gases carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide as well as industrial gases (HFCs, HFCs, SF6). In doing so, Austria fulfils the requirements for transparent and comprehensible documentation required for English reporting on the Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Kyoto Protocol. This report contains sector-specific emissions from 1990 to 2007, emission factors and baseline data for emission calculations, as well as information for reporting under the Kyoto Protocol. In addition, in the 2009 NIR, the Federal Environment Agency documents the national inventory system and quality assurance within the framework of the monitoring body accredited in accordance with ISO/IEC 17020.
