Dataset description

Wood is one of the most important renewable raw materials for the substitution of fossil raw materials. In this study, environmental and value-added effects of the material and energy use of wood are analysed and recommendations for the sustainable use of the wood resource are developed. These include a sustainable supply of raw materials, a high level of material utilisation, an increase in cascading use, the development of innovative wood-based products, a more efficient energy conversion, and the reduction of energy consumption in the supply of heat. There is also a need for optimisation in the existing conveyor systems. This study was carried out on behalf of Mondi AG, Zellstoff Pöls AG and Laakirchen Papier AG.
