Dataset description

This report by the Federal Environment Agency describes stationary facilities for the treatment of contaminated soils in Austria, with regard to different ex situ processes and technology. Of the 18 soil treatment plants collected, ten plants use microbiological processes, three mechanical processes, two mechanical treatment processes in combination with solidification/stabilisation, another two thermal processes and one chemical-physical process. The described soil treatment plants treat both contaminated soils and other hazardous and non-hazardous types of waste. The primary objective of the treatment of contaminated soils is to reduce contamination for the classification of specific landfill classes and the production of mineral materials for recovery.
