Dataset description

In Austria, around 8.11 million tonnes of fuel were sold in 2013, of which 6.45 million tonnes (approximately 79 %) diesel fuels. The Federal Environment Agency analysed samples from 206 petrol stations throughout Germany, with one sample being taken per filling station. Diesel fuels have been tested according to ÖNORM EN 590, petrol according to ÖNORM EN 228. For petrol, 3 deviations from the standard parameter for vapour pressure were observed, for diesel 2 minor exceedances of the permitted FAME content. None of the 6 samples analysed exceeded the maximum value of 10 mg/kg sulphur content for marine fuels to be observed in accordance with EU Directive 2009/30/EC. EU Directive 98/70/EC requires Member States to verify compliance with the quality standards for fuels and report the results to the European Commission.
