Heavy machinery spare parts in Austria

The study collected treatment facilities, technologies and capacities for waste electrical appliances (EAGs) and treatment quantities. There is sufficient capacity in Austria for the initial treatment of the EAEC collected in 2006: Large-scale equipment is mechanically processed in six large shredders, small electrical appliances are removed from pollutants by manually disassembling or mechanically pre-shifting, and components with hazardous ingredients are blanked out. Screen displays are dismantled, partly treated with picture tubes, refrigeration and freezers with automatic extraction machines and in encapsulated shredding systems, gas discharge lamps by means of a cap-separation method. Treatment or recycling is unexplained for equipment types such as flat screens and certain wastes such as bulbs.
