Dataset description

If contaminants are mobilised by leachate at contaminated sites, there is a risk of groundwater contamination. A standard method has so far been used in Austria to estimate loads in leachate. However, its significance is limited due to the different properties of inorganic and organic pollutants. Climatic factors or soil properties have not yet been taken into account. In this work aid, the Federal Environment Agency presents a structured, pollutant-specific method for assessing leachate water pollution and the amount of pollutants that can be mobilised in the long term, and describes the methods and methods to be used (elution studies, column tests, computational estimation) and their application areas and limits.
