Dataset description

The name directory for the ÖK500 is an alphabetical compilation of all names contained in the Austrian map 1:500 000 with an attached indexation. This indexation is adapted to the geographical grade network of the ÖK500. The strips between the width circles are marked with letters and the meridional stripes with numbers. The search grid is labeled on the map frame. In this way, about 8,000 names are recorded. The name directory for the Austrian map 1:500 000 is to be used for both the topographic and political edition with search grid.
