Dataset description

The Flemish Government wishes to stimulate and facilitate the redevelopment of abandoned business parks (so-called brownfields) by concluding covenants with project developers and investors. Through such an agreement, project developers and investors receive a number of legal, administrative and financial benefits in the development of abandoned and underutilised industrial parks. In doing so, the Flemish Government wants to encourage them to reuse abandoned sites (brownfields) instead of cutting new areas (greenfields) for the development of industrial activities, housing or recreation.
