Dataset description

The classification of the Flemish Region in care regions is laid down in the Health Region Decree (https://codex.vlaanderen.be/Zoeken/Document.aspx?DID=1011102&param=inhoud&AID=1101198). The classification consists of multiple levels with a hierarchical structure based on natural spheres of influence. The levels are the regional city, the smallest, sub-level 1 and sub-level 2 where the regional and the smallest ones predominate. Sub-level 1 and sub-level 2 are a subdivision of the smallest level into smaller units based on the number of inhabitants and/or the area.
