Dataset description

The combustion of wood and fossil fuels (mainly diesel) releases particulate matter (PM10?and PM2.5) and black carbon (BC). These substances are harmful to health, including by respiratory infections, asthma, clots of blood vessels and causing cancer. Black carbon (BC) is a component of fine dust. In addition, there is also OC (organic carbon) and brown carbon that is part of OC. Wood combustion contributes more to the concentrations of particulate matter in the air than combustion of fossil fuels. The combustion of fossil fuels usually has a greater contribution to the concentration of black carbon in the air than wood combustion.
