Dataset description

The indicator reports domestic employment (workplace employment) to the population aged 15-64, on an annual average. It gives an indication of the jobs offered to the working-age population of the observed entity. It is similar to the employment rate because it uses the same denominator. However, this is not a rate since the numerator is not necessarily included in the denominator. In addition, the counting unit of the numerator (workstation)*, relating to the place of work, is different from that of the denominator (persons), relative to the place of residence. *The estimated domestic employment here is expressed in workstations and is therefore higher than if expressed in persons. Indeed, a worker may occupy several salaried jobs (see the definition of the ONSS workstation), but may also combine one or more salaried work positions with a self-employed or carer’s job. Series breaks: — as of 1 January 2011: output of statistics of inactive employees following the modification of the declaration of public sector staff (Capelo reform), revision of the distribution between the private and public sectors. — as of 1 January 2012: output of statistics of inactive employees following the amendment of the declaration of public sector staff (Capelo reform): continuation and end.
