Dataset description

In the context of the water test, a new second version of the map has been created which shows the flood-prone areas up to the plot level for the whole Flemish Region. The map contains the effective flood-prone areas (dark blue layer) and the potentially flood sensitive areas (light blue layer). This new version included the data on the November 2010 and January 2011 floods, in addition to the other local floods between 2006 and now.On 1 March 2012, an adaptation to the Water Test Implementing Decision came into force. These adjustments came after a thorough evaluation in 2010 and 2011 which indicated that the water test needed to be strengthened. The amendments to the Decree adopted by the Flemish Government on 14 October 2011 are intended to ensure this.
