Flooding areas and shore areas, 2022.01

Flood areas and shore zones: Flood areas and shore zones, established and demarcated in accordance with the Decree of 18 July 2003 on the integral water policy (published in the Belgian Official Gazette of 14 November 2003). In order to lay down the necessary space for water, flood areas can be demarcated. Banks can also be demarcated along waterways and unnavigable watercourses, for example for the natural functioning of the water system or for nature conservation purposes or for the protection against erosion or from sediment, pesticides or fertilisers.
