Dataset description

GROEN_BOUWBLOK City development/Space Green or unpaved surface (according to Groenmap Flanders at 3 years) aggregated at building block level. This is a finer level than the neighborhoods, neighbourhoods and post-zones, which you can consult in city in figures. This concerns: — green or unpaved surface of the building block (ortho) — % of the green or unpaved surface compared to the total area of the building block — % of the green or unpaved surface area compared to the unbuilt surface (outside area) of the building block This is the green open area of the building block, so without the buildings (according to GRB main and outbuildings), or the unpaved, green outdoor space or garden (front and back of the plots) (according to Groenkaart Vlaanderen). It concerns not only the residential plots, but also the plots with economic, public functions and even unbuilt plots (such as all parks except Stadspark and Harmoniepark, which are not a plot and are therefore registered as public domains). That means that this number is distorted. This green map is a grid (1 m resolution) of segmentation classification of the summer flight orthophotos commissioned by the Agency for Nature and Forest (ANB) with the classes “Not green”, “Agriculture”, “Low Green” (less than 3 m) and “High Green” (more than 3 m). Since 2012 it is created every 3 years (2012, 2015 and 2018).
