Dataset description

Permits granted for the extraction of groundwater can be visualised and questioned in the Database Underground Flanders. Since 1999, licences have been granted under the VLAREM legislation. They are classified in Class 1, 2 or 3, with a licence requirement for Class 1 and 2 and a reporting obligation for Class 3. The classification list can be found in VLAREM I (the extraction of groundwater is included under heading 53). Older applications have been granted in accordance with the Groundwater Decree. These are classified in categories A, B and C.
