Dataset description

Flanders is made up of a variety of aquifers (sand, gravel, chalk, solid rock,...) and regionally occurring non-aquifers (e.g. clay). The sequence of these aquifers and aquitards has its own coding in Flanders: the Hydrogeological Coding of the Underground of Flanders (HCOV coding). The HCOV coding is made up of hydrogeological main, sub- and basic units. This grid model combines the different individual grids of the hydrogeological units modelled in the HCOV project in one grid file with in the different bands the individual HCOV units and the height of their respective bases and thicknesses in mTAW. The multiband includes the different HCOV main units and for the HCOV_0200 — Kempens Aquifer system, the split into HCOV subunits is included.
