Dataset description

The total volume of water that a watercourse drains consists of two components. The direct run-off or superficial drain is the component that forms the direct response of the catchment area to a rain shower. Generally, the part of the precipitation that flows superficially after a few hours or days reaches the unnavigable watercourse. The basic drainage is the part of the total drain that reacts much slower to the precipitation and largely reaches the watercourse via the groundwater. Analysis of the drainage behaviour of watercourses can provide information about the chances of flooding and dehydration. After all, as the total flow rate and the superficial drain increase, the chances of flooding increase. If the base flow rate drops, it is an indication of dehydration.
