Dataset description

Total traction energy consumption per month in MWh since 2009, broken down by region on the one hand and by type of traffic on the other. Producers produce electricity in power stations. The electricity is transported at a high voltage level of alternating current to Infrabel's traction substations. These substations then transform the voltage and distribute it via the catenary cables. The pantographs allow trains to draw electrical current to move forward or to provide lighting, heating or air-conditioning for passengers. More information in our flyer “Your Power”
