Dataset description

An excess of nutrients in the surface water can lead to excessive algae blooms, for example, which greatly decreases visibility and the oxygen balance can become problematic. Net emissions are the dirt cargo that effectively ends up in surface water. If applicable, account is therefore taken of the treatment of domestic waste water by a public sewage treatment plant. Households have a significant share of net emissions of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) to surface water. Net emissions of nitrogen and phosphorus to surface water from households have decreased.
