Dataset description

Generalisation of the Belgian soil map (1: 20 000). Merging soil map units into zones characterised by soil, relief and hydrological landscape characteristics, which determine the intrinsic suitability of the area. Sensitivities and vulnerabilities are linked to the generated zoning units, as well as an indication of torment/infiltration. The “content legend” differs depending on the region. The information is the result of the study "Kartering of the Physical System and the Spatial Structures in Flanders at scale 1: 50 000" (Stichting Rural Policy) in 1994, commissioned by the Flemish Land Company.
