Dataset description

In recent decades, atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases and aerosols have increased mainly as a result of human activities. This increase leads to increased temperatures on Earth, causing climate disruption. This disruption may consist of changing precipitation patterns. This indicator examines the extent to which there are changes in the occurrence of extreme rainfall periods in Belgium. Indeed, periods of extreme rainfall can lead to floods, while long dry periods lead to dehydration of ecosystems and depletion of water resources.
