Protected areas Duinendecreet

This file shows the digital delimitations of protected areas designated and ratified by the Decree of 21 December 1994 and 29 November 1995 and recently amended by the Flemish Government Decree of 19 September 2008 (Belgian Official Gazette of 29/10/2008) in the context of the Duinendecreet of 14 July 1993 (Belgian Official Gazette of 31/08/1993). The decree identified two categories within the protected areas, namely ‘agricultural area important to the dune area’ and ‘protected dune area’. The protection is based on four criteria: surface, spatial-ecological context, biological value and geomorphology-pedology.
