Renewable Energy Atlas Flanders — Additional potential energy production from large-scale wind — REV2030 scenario

This map layer is part of the Renewable EnergieAtlas Flanders. “In the ‘Space for Energy Flanders 2030’ scenario (REV2030), the additional production potential for large-scale winds that can be realised within the available space is reduced on the basis of a potential figure proposed for 2030, taking into account the current context and policy objectives. A wind turbine of 2.3 MW is used for large-scale winds. In doing so, we align the choice of positive and negative spatial links to the current policy context so that there are many additional spatial framework conditions compared to the technical scenario. For an overview, please refer to the report. A maximum of wind turbines shall then be placed within the available space, taking into account a minimum distance that can be respected between the wind turbines. Given the current context and policy objectives, production potential based on available space is reduced to 38 %. The results are presented at the level of the statistical sectors.
