Dataset description

Road category Mobility and Parking Antwerp Summary: In the concept of sustainable safe road traffic, the design of the roads must be adapted to the assigned function. Combinations of power, access and yard functions should be excluded (as much as possible). For the sake of predictability of use and behaviour, there should preferably be only one unique and clearly recognizable design of a type of road per function. This requires consistent categorisation of roads into a drastically limited number of functional and a priori safe categories. The design of the connections must also be unique and clearly recognizable per pair of categories and within a category. Demarcation, marking and traffic engineering facilities shall be uniquely linked to a category or type of connection. A strict speed regime should also apply per category. Purpose: As a precondition for the road categorisation, the vision as expressed by the Flanders Spatial Structure Plan and the Spatial Structure Plan of the Province of Antwerp should be used. The categorisation is then refined at the urban level. The category of RSV, RSPA and the sophistication of the mobility plan are all 3 included in the geodata layer. Production: The basis was based on the current mobility plan and the map attachments. Some situations need to be further clarified in the revision of the mobility plan. The categorisation is linked to the existing road segments of the Road Register. &Creation Date: 2009-08-01T00:00:00 &Publication date: 2015-03-02T00:00:00 & Revision Date: 2015-03-02T00:00:00  Update frequency: if necessary & Management: Christophe Verhaeren &Contact: [email protected]
