Statistical sectors of Belgium, most recently

The term ‘statistical sector’ was introduced in 1970 by the National Statistical Institute (NIS). Previously, the municipality was the smallest administrative entity for which socio-economic data were available. The statistical sectors divide the territory of Belgium on the basis of morphological and/or socio-economic characteristics. The delimitation of statistical sectors usually coincides with elements that can be recognised in the field or administrative/administrative classifications. Many detailed inventories are generalised to provide information at the level of the statistical sector.This data product contains the vector data of the most recent version of the statistical sectors, generalised version, of the General Directorate of Statistics — statistiscs Belgium.
