Dataset description

Definition: the victims of burglary or assault corresponds to the share of respondents to the European Social Survey (ESS) that answered ‘yes’ to the following question: “Have you or a member of your household been the victim of a burglary or assault in the last 5 years?”. This question was asked in each of the nine biennial ESS surveys. The FPB calculates the indicator using the ESS data. Since these data are based on surveys, a margin of uncertainty must be taken into account. The confidence intervals for these data are available on request.
