At the end of 2017, around 62,300 vehicles were registered in the city of Rijeka, i.e. 1 vehicle per 1.96 inhabitants, but almost 10 % less than at the beginning of the period under review. The decline in the number of registered vehicles has been ongoing since 2007 and the return trend has been observed since 2014. Although the trends are identical, compared to 2007, the number of registered vehicles in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County in 2017 was about 4 % higher. Although no data are available for the city, by analogy with the vehicle structure at the level of the PGC, it can be concluded that passenger cars account for over 80 % of registered vehicles.
