The register of public and private museums in the Republic of Croatia shall be kept at the Museum Documentation Centre in order to provide basic information on museums established in accordance with Article 18(1) and (2). The Museums Act.
With the adoption of the Museums Act (Official Gazette 61/2018), the previous Museum Register, as well as museums of galleries and collections within institutions and other legal entities, which was conducted at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia, was renamed the Register of Public and Private Museums in the Republic of Croatia. On the basis of Art. 4(2) The application shall be submitted within eight days of the finality of the decision on the registration of museums or museum activities in the court register or other appropriate register, i.e. the alignment of work and business with the Museums Act, including the change of already registered data.
