Dataset description

The Ministry of Environment and Food has designated 21 emergency areas for ships in need of assistance in Danish waters. Places of refuge are areas that ships in need of assistance can use in situations of risk of pollution or for reasons of safety of navigation. The designated areas are set out in Order No 1852 of 16 December 2015 on places of refuge and their plans. 16 plans have been drawn up for the 21 emergency areas, some covering several areas, due to the proximity of the areas and as a result of the fact that the associated emergency areas are managed by the same emergency authorities. The emergency area plans can be found on SVANA’s website.
