Dataset description

Short summary in English: Dataset is the areas appointed in accordence whit the Directive 92/43/EEC http://inspire.ec.europa.eu/metadata-codelist/PriorityDataset/dir-1992-43 English: Map basis in Denmark’s Area Information. The designation has been implemented in Danish legislation by Order No 408 of 1 May 2007 on the designation and administration of international nature conservation areas as well as the protection of certain species, as amended. A Community habitat area is one of three types of international nature conservation areas: Community bird protection areas, Community habitat areas and Ramsar areas. The former two are collectively referred to as Natura 2000 sites. The basis of the habitat areas is the 1992 Habitats Directive, which aims to protect and improve the conditions of natural habitats, animals and plants in the EU. Habitat areas are designated to protect and conserve certain habitats and species of animals and plants that are of EU importance. The habitats to be protected are those: · There is a risk of disappearing in their natural range· There is a limited natural range due to their decline or because they are limited by nature· The characteristics of various areas of Europe The animal and plant species to be preserved are: · Threatened, vulnerable or rare· Only a less demarcated area (is endemic) requires special attention due to their particular habitat and/or the possible consequences that their use may have on their conservation status.
