Dataset description

Rain-related discharges are only in function in connection with weather conditions as they aim to dispel the rainwater falling on the fortified areas connected to a sewer. There are discharges of rainwater from segregated areas where surface water is discharged into a separate pipeline directly or via a basin to an outlet point in a body of water. There are also common sewered areas where domestic waste water and surface water are discharged into the same pipeline. However, in order not to overload the wastewater treatment plants, there are overflow works in the common systems from which a mixture of surface water and domestic waste water is relieved when it rains too much for the treatment plant to follow.
