Region Midtjylland og de 19 kommuner i regionen har siden 2007 udarbejdet klima- og energiregnskaber, hvert andet år. Energiregnskaberne bruges til at følge udviklingen i omstilling til vedvarende energi, til at planlægge nye energitiltag/investeringer og til at blive inspireret af hvad de andre Kommuner/Regioner præsterer. Datasættene vil ikke blive opdateret, men der vil komme nye Energiregnskaber hvert andet år.
