Regio has a constantly updated and accurate address database for Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The addresses of all three Baltic countries have been brought to a uniform format, which ensures the convenient use of data. Addresses are given as address points. Address points are associated with the Regio territorial unit database, through which the spatial shape of the administrative or settlement unit can also be given to the address points at higher levels. The REGIO address data base has been adapted to support high-quality, detailed but optimised address search, reverse geocoding and place name list services. Postal code information is available in the database in the form of points as well as postcode areas. The access points are the road network points that best guide to the address of the navigational route. In addition to addresses, Regio’s address database also contains information on unofficial place names, former addresses and names of natural objects. REGIO provides a continuously updated accurate database of Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian addresses. The data structures of all three Baltic countries are presented in the same format, which ensures convenient use of the data. Addresses are presented as address points in the database. Addresspoints can be further associated with their areal representations in administrative units database. REGIO address database is designed to support high quality geocoding, reverse geocoding and gazeeter services. Postcodes are presented both as points and as areas in the database. Access point information identifies the best site along the transportation network for use as the start or destination of a navigation route. In addition to officially valid addresses, Regio address database also contains information of unofficial names of places, former addresses and names of natural objects.
