Dataset description

This Register provides a list of all benchmarks provided by administrators located outside the Union that comply with the conditions laid down in point (c) of Article 30(1) of the Benchmarks Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/1011 of 8 June 2016), all benchmarks provided by administrators located outside the Union that acquired recognition in accordance with Article 32 of the same Regulation and which may be used in the Union, benchmarks that are endorsed in accordance with the procedure laid down in Article 33 of the same Regulation. According to Article 36 of the Benchmarks Regulation, ESMA has to establish and maintain a public Register that contains the consolidated list that is provided in this Register. The present Register has been set up by ESMA on the basis of information provided by Member States in accordance with the procedure laid down in Article 32(7) and Article 33(3) of the Benchmarks Regulation. Therefore, the national competent authorities are responsible for the content of this database regarding Article 32 and Article 33 of the Benchmarks Regulation. Queries regarding the content should be addressed directly to the relevant competent authority of the administrator. According to Article 29(1) of the Benchmarks Regulation a supervised entity may use a benchmark or a combination of benchmarks in the Union if the benchmark is included in this Register. This Register includes only benchmarks provided by administrators located outside the Union. Benchmarks provided by administrators located in the Union are not included in this Register. It should be noted that, in accordance with Article 29(1) of the Benchmarks Regulation, a supervised entity may use a benchmark or a combination of benchmarks provided by an administrator located in the Union only when such administrator is included in the administrators' Register.
