Dataset description

This indicator is defined as the ratio between tonne-kilometres (inland transport only) and GDP (chain-linked volumes, at 2005 exchange rates). It is indexed on 2005. It includes transport by road, rail and inland waterways. Rail and inland waterways transport are based on movements on national territory, regardless of the nationality of the vehicle or vessel. Road transport is based on all movements of vehicles registered in the reporting country. A tonne-kilometre corresponds to one tonne of goods transported over one kilometre. ** The product has been discontinued since: 29 Nov 2018.**
