<br/> Activation date: 2022-08-05 <br/> Event type: Forest fire, wild fire <br/> <br/> Activation reason: <br/> This CEMS Risk and Recovery Standard activation has been requested to provide damage delineation and grading product over the municipality of Carcastillo, in the region of Navarra (Spain), which was hit by a forest fire on 25th July 2022, started around 13:20 (local time).According to the news, the forest fire was most probably arson and hit a pine forest and several fields that had already been cut. The Level 2 of the Forest Fire Emergency Plan has been activated and a large number of firefighters and air resources have tried to control the fire for a few days: six aircraft from the Spanish Government&#39;s Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, three helicopters from the government of Navarra and one from the government of Aragon.&nbsp;The goal of the activation is to provide wildfire damage delineation and grading products that will support the police investigation and the damage assessment over Carcastillo (AOI01).The&nbsp;P07-Wildfire delineation and grading&nbsp;product shows the delineation of the burnt area and the associated level of damage as derived from post-event optical VHR images. The analysis resulted in 341.07 ha burnt, of which 304.38 ha were only slightly damaged, 26.38 ha&nbsp;moderately damaged, 8.69 ha highly damaged, and 1.60 ha destroyed.The&nbsp;P14-Impact assessment analysis on assets and population&nbsp;provides an asset and population impact assessment analysis following the fire in Carcastillo. The analysis was carried out on the basis of reference datasets and LULC information. The main outputs of this product were the general statistics on the assets and population affected by the event, resulting from the spatial intersection between the event and the reference strata. The summary statistics are presented in tabular form. In terms of area, the greatest damage was suffered by permanently irrigated land (247.89 hectares) and coniferous forests (71.02 hectares).Further information is provided in the Technical Report, available for download below. <br/> <br/>
